My Gym Experience and What is it like to have a six pack?
Six pack is really a big deal where you need to have a lot of
dedication, discipline and hard work altogether combined into one new life
style. People might have a misconception that six pack can be made through gym
easily but it’s not that easy, one can be fit through going to gym but it doesn’t
guarantee six pack.
It will take around one to one and a half years to get the
best abs and shape. Becoming fit and getting hot and really cut and carved abs
is entirely different. After going to gym, you can easily develop body muscles
on your arms legs and chest but things are not going to shape up your abs so
fast. It takes tremendous amount of dedication and discipline in both working
out and diet. 80% of the people really don’t care about the abs when they go to
gym because they cannot change their lifestyle by shifting to low calories not
even thinkable, not so tasty not so spicy diet. Can you hardly imagine that all
of a sudden you need to quit sugar in all your drinks and say no to oily and
spicy hotshot food that you like the most. Having a six-pack requires several
lifestyle changes that are hard to maintain unless you have the metabolism of a
ruby-throated hummingbird, or are an athlete. I say hard because it involves
exercising quite a bit and eating at a caloric deficit until at a low body fat
percentage.
So its really hard to maintain that level of discipline in your dieting
and gym. Usually in gym, there are mainly six sections alternately on six days of the week:
Chest, Biceps, Triceps, Shoulders, Wings and Legs
Sunday is off in most of the gyms lol.
There is no separate day for the abs. You can work out on your abs on
every day after the main session of one of the above mentioned. Some trainers
suggest that its better to play for abs (play literally means exercising) on
the alternate days. And one important tip; always exhale to the fullest while playing
for abs. There are some machines for abs but the machine count for abs is
less as compared to other types of sessions. For other sessions you to do at least
6-7 machines.
If you are new to gym, always go for good cardio before every session. Usually
you need to just roughly do only ground exercises for one week and only then
will your trainer allow you to work on the above sessions. You will have a
weirdo feeling like what the hell is this!!! I came to play on all these
machines and all I do is just running large rounds, doing push ups, sit ups
squats etc, even I have had the same freaking feeling.
You know what, because of the weird experience for the first three days
my friend even quitted the whole gym. In our there was an outside balcony
specially for the new guys which means you cannot even enter the AC gym for the
first 6-7 days. A good trainer won’t let you in.
The reality is that you need to
work more on your ground exercises for the first week to make yourself
endurable for the gym otherwise it will be really painful in the first month.
Now talking about the benefits, “What
about the benefits, bro? The babes?” Well, you look good with your shirt off,
but that doesn’t cause girls to flock to you, rather, you get attention from
the bros. That’s right, bro, maybe even some slap ass if you’re lucky.
I found
that women like abs, but as long as a guy is remotely fit, they couldn’t care
less about it. Dad bods and skinny dudes are also in right now...
I will say
that it does raise your confidence, but being “good” at anything will raise
your self-esteem.
In
conclusion, people need to work out and get fit, but don’t worry about getting
your body fat so low to have 6 pack-abs. It isn’t worth it.
For a year and a half I followed my own
gym split which focused mainly on the big three(squat, bench, and dead lift)
with supplemental exercises to accommodate those exercises. My focus was
strength progression. I didn’t do a single crunch, planks or ab exercise.
In order to
see your abs, you need to get to a low enough body fat percentage. This is done
by being in a calorie deficit.
I believe
the easiest/most accurate way to do this is through calorie/macro nutrient
counting. It lets you still eat foods you like and not feel deprived while at
the same time you do the bare minimum to lose body fat.
For two
weeks I ate at low calories to see how my body would react to those calories.
My average weight stayed the same for those two weeks leading me to the idea
the calories I chose were fine.
Talking
about my dieting experience, I dropped calories by about 200 to put myself into
a calorie deficit. I aimed to lose about 1–2% of my body weight per week, which
is reasonable for fat loss.
As long as
I continued to lose weight on a certain amount of calories I wouldn’t change my
calories or cardio. Those would only change if I saw no progress.
You can’t
simply get a six pack by doing squats and heavy dead lifts with weights, but you
can get a six pack by doing squats, heavy dead lifts with weights and a calorie
deficit. Most people who do have abs usually flex their stomachs to
display their abdominal muscles. One more thing about my gym experience is that most of the people hat the leg day,its usually on Saturday as it will be really painful for your legs, you wont be able to walk properly after leg day. I have seen a lot of guys skipping leg workout and doing some other sessions on that day. see don't get confused you can work on any sessions on any day, there is no strict guideline for that but its better to follow the same pattern which shows your discipline.
Thank you for your time,
share and care!!!
